Hey guys, I need some help, when I hit the turn signal lever down to turn left, its been making a buzzing or humming type sound, as soon as I let go, it stops. It also seems to only do it if I push it down hard. Im not sure whats wrong, can some please help, I dont want something to short and catch on fire. Thanks MATT

You need to replace the multifunction switch. My '95 had that same issues years ago.

Nothing $55.00, a trip to the dealer & an hour of switching switches wont cure.
Mr. Multifunction strikes again.....

Bill~ can you please tell me how to fix this? Im assuming you bought the piece from the dealer and replaced it yourself. Can you please tell me where this switch is located and how I access it. I appreciate anything you know. Thanks MATT

Thats the one. I replaced one in the 96X and the 98Mtnr. On the 98 I had to loosen the dash to get to the switch. On the X I didnt have to mess w/the dash.
I got the part from the dealer cause it was only a couple of bucks more, considering shipping.

It looks like you get a whole new arm and such. Im assuming there are just screws up under there you just undo? Then the whole thing comes out?

Yup. Just have to remove the steering column cover and the MFS is screwed in place.

I know you have to unscrew the tilt lever & there are screws holding the cover on. Dont remember if the ignition has to come off or not.

Try a search. Maby a better description than I remember. Theres always the Haynes Manual.
