Exp 2007 LTD
Hello My name is Edward, I'm from Moscow. I have a 2007 FE 4x4 LTD.
I do not like Part-Time, I like the Full-Time, as the Mercury Mountaineer. Because of this, I removed the BW4411 transfer case, and installed BW4410. There is no 4LOW, but there is a center differential. The result is very happy. Naturally there was an error in the form of "wrench" on the monitor. This is to be expected, because now "hang" in the air connector on 4411 transfer case, and connectors on the control unit 4x4. In principle, the "wrench" is not particularly worried, just click the RESET and he disappears. But with each start - again the key. Tell me please, how to erase that mistake once and for all?

Thank you in advance.

I think you're stuck unless you were to get an ECU from a model that has the full time AWD transfer case. Your truck is looking for the 4411 t-case, but isn't finding it. As such, it sees it as a fault.

This I understand. But what kind of electronics, you need to change? PCM or SJB?

The PCM is probably the one that's throwing a fit. Outside of swapping that, there *may* be a way to eliminate the error with a custom ECU tune, but I'm not 100% sure.

You could try swapping in a gauge cluster from a 2wd. The control of the 4x4 module and the transfer case starts out in the programming of the Gauge cluster, so from what I understand, if the cluster is programmed for 2wd it won't be looking for any PID's from the 4x4 module, and may not throw the error.

Another thing you can try is measure the resistance of the 4wd high electromagnet, which is the single brown wire going into the transfer case. You could then put together some resistors to match this resistance, and wire it inline where this connection was.
