I'm needing a C4 from a 4wd explorer, what years did ford put that tranny in an explorer?

Never put a C4 in Explorer. Ford hasn't used the C4 since 1981 and the C5 since 1986. Explorer started production in 1990 with a 4 speed A4LD.
