Calling all NC Wheelers!!!!!!!!

Uwharrie is a fun place id love to go but i think the next time im gonna go down there is in like april or may of next year because it is a 6 hour drive for me. there are pictures from uwharrie on my cardomain. i'll make a post before i go down there again to see who wants to come down. its a great place for stockers and bigger trucks i did every trail except daniel ( the hardest) with only 31's but you can take harder lines to make things interesting for bigger trucks. but uwharrie is a fun time, make sure to post pictures when you get back

I'm up for it in the spring. Just keep me posted. Does anybody else Wanna go next month?

Living in south Wake county, I have heard the URE has some really nice trails. Not much I can do with open diff 2wd! Can't decide if I want to convert it to 4x4 or keep working on it as a street ute. Let me know if anybody wants to meet somewhere to just hang and talk xploders.

Hi all, glad to here from others in NC. I live in Denver, NC just north of Charlotte and I also would like to plan a outing sometime. I've been going to Linville George (AWESOME VIEWS!!) for my camping trips. It's not much for off-roading except for a 14 mile steep climb up a dirt road to get to the camp site. Not good on the transmission pulling a trailer full of camping gear for my 98 XLT is currently on jack stands waiting on new transmission, But I should have that in this weakend.

Brown Mountain has some OHV areas, http://www.cs.unca.edu/nfsnc/ has alot of info on NC, go to the Outdoor Recreation link. There is also a link for a forestry service vehicle auction, they have a few explorers and quit a few 4x4's listed.

I live in Boone. I'd love to join you guys at uwharrie. I've been to Brown Mountain (it's only about 30 min. from me). And it's fun, but short. I'd say not worth much more then an hour drive. There are a ton of dirt bike trails. But only 1 trail for trucks, and it's about 8 miles long. Are there still any plans for Nov. 4-5? I think I could go then.
BTW, most of the pictures on my cardomain sight are from brown mountain.

anyone want to hit up uwharrie this weekend?

Nov. 4-5 is my Fall Break. Football game and lot preparation for my future house, so I can't make it that weekend. Don't let me keep ya'll from going that weekend. If that's best for everybody else I'll get there in the spring.

I'm still up for Nov 4-5. I was hoping that someone would pick this up. If anyone is going then, let me know so we can meet there. It's been raining a lot around here so it might be a little muddy...I would hope so anyway!

ill be down for a day trip on the 5th. Who else is gonna go...list your mods as well.

EDIT: meant to say the 5th.

I'm 90% going to be there. (My wife is the other 10% of stopping me.) My truck is A stock 93 on a set of 31's. Saterday would be best for me also. That way I can bargan with my wife by offering her all of my attention Sunday. HAHAHAHA!

Actually, i meant to say the 5th...sunday. We (NCSU) have our homecoming football game on saturday the 4th. So if i get tickets to that, i will have to wheel on sunday. If not...then we can do saturday. I will be planning for sunday though as I usually get tickets in the lottery.

Sunday would be A-Okay for me, But saterday would be better. I got my wife to let me go. Just post or PM me as soon as you know about the tickets that way I can get my poop together.

seeing your truck is only on 31s and stock....how do you feel about body damage? I have run every trail there on 31s, Daniel will require a locker (or slight body damage) if you are on 31s. Im willing to show you around, but there is a possiblity of body damage out there.

No sweat. I'm willing to take another (not my first) dent for a few hours of wheel time. A locker is in the future though...Just have to find the money. Christmas is close and I have three kids to buy for.

aight, we can probably get you up most of the trails if you dont mind a dent or few ;). Hopefully daniel as well.

I'm new to the NC scene myself(now living in statesville). I used to live 3 miles from the pay site @ the state line bridge and trail 5. My cousin is assistant manager at the hatchery and also heads up the volenteer caretaker program at tellico. We can use all the help we can get at keeping the trails open to the public. I'm sure if you help out with the trails you could go wheeling when ever you want(as long as its deemed trail work). Hell, I could probably get you a warm place to stay and a guide you is a state employee, knows all wildlife officers and has the ok to be on the trials when he pleases. Let me know.

Tellico is about 4-5 hours from where I live.

im going to go ahead and subscribe to this thread even though i cant go next week (nov 4th) but i need to go sometime seeing how i havent been in over a year(i'm having withdraws)

It's okay...I've never been there at all. I think we are going to try to get there in the spring also.
