Never had that problem with a pilot bearing, but have with other bearings.

Sometimes heating up with a torch will work as long as you heat the crankshaft side more than the pilot sleeve. You can then use something to knock it loose.

Have you tried a drill bit that is a little larger? If you can find one, it might grip it enough to make it spin out.

Last resort is a small chisel and a lot of patience. Been there on a axle bearing and it isn't much fun.

Good luck.

heating it is a good suggestion, I have freed things by rapidly heating them, then cooling them with ice, the heat causes expansion and the ice will cause the two metals to contract and hopefully that movement will break the bearing free.good luck.

It's probably too late for this since the bearing is trashed but it might work if the bearing bore is smooth. You'll have to decide. The easiest way is to get a pilot shaft or have a machine shop cut a shaft that fits snug but still slides through the bearing, Fill the cavity behind the bearing completely with grease and them drive the shaft in with a hammer the grease won't compress so it will force the bearing out. Never had it fail but never tried it on a trashed bearing either.

If you can't get a tight fit it won't work, I would suggest splitting the bearing race with a good sharp chisel.

Another option is to weld a shaft (made to fit) to what's left of the race and work it out with that. If you've never done something like that don't try it.

The heat is also an option but you run the risk of smoking the main seal.

Good luck, let us know how it goes.

i used a chissle and 2 hour of my time and finally got it out thanks for the replies
