I have the late OHV6 (1998). I understand there were two after market cams available at one point for this engine. One was a mid-level upgrade designed for the stock system which delivered about a 20HP boost. The second was designed for a supercharger, but made a normally aspired engine idle rough.

I'm looking for info/availability on the one designed for the normally aspired engine. I may be in for a partial rebuild in a week or so, and may as well replace this while I'm at it.

My limmted search skills turned up nothing.

Pretty sure you are talkin about the comp cams.. I have the '410' one (havent installed yet though), which is the milder of the two. The other is the '422'. Let me see if i can dig up some info...

here it is: http://compcams.com/Technical/CurrentCatalog/HTML/58-61.asp the cams are the last two on the bottom of the page. Summit racing sells them for about $245, which is where i got mine, or you can have deltacam (www.deltacam.com) custom grind you one with the same specs for about $100

Thanks inh. I understand that the 410 is pretty much the best choice out there. Even with 4.10 gears, the truck is hurting for power. Hopfully this will aliviate that somewhat.

Well, the 422 will give you more power throughout the RPM range, but the 410 is best for low end torque
