I have to replace both left and right control arms, front roll bars, and in links. The dealership wants $1247 for just labour. I really want to file a complaint with ford motor company and consumer protection. I pretty sure overcharging is illegal. What is cost for labour for such parts?

Take it to a non-dealer shop. You won’t get anywhere with the “overcharging” issue, and you can expect almost every dealer to over charge you.

Agreed. I don’t know about where your from, but around here ford dealers are typically $130-$140 per hour labor rate. The local shops are $90-$115 per hour labor rate. That’s a big difference on a multiple hour job. Plus the independent mechanic shops for example likely won’t charge you labor to replace the sway bar links when they have to take them off to replace the sway bar whereas a dealership is setup so the mechanics have to flag time for every job they do

First, there is only one front roll bar and second, why are they replacing that?

Roll bars rarely, if ever, fail. The links might fail or wear out, which I see is on your list.

As for labor, I would guess the control arms are about 2hr job for each side and the end links are probably billed out at half to one hour each, so my 'armchair estimate' should be around $700-900 depending on labor rates.

That doesn't include your roll bar, so whatever that is could be another couple hours.

2 new motorcraft control arms for 185 each plus 140 in labor was my cost. My mechanic is wonderful and doesn't charge an arm and leg.

End links are probably under a hundred with labor for motorcraft. Don't get non motorcraft parts. I used to be cheap but ended up costing more.

Indeed, independent shop for work like this is a better option.

For dealer costs, I don't think the OP's quote is too far off (but still ridiculous if you ask me)....but still don't know what the "roll bars" includes.

You can get most costs for parts from this site among others; https://parts.autonationfordwhitebearlake.com/v I believe I read their prices are 10% over invoice. Being that you're in Hawaii likely does help in costs/pricing.

Thank you all, the front roll bar is the sway bar.
