can I use airbags from 97 on 00

ok I have already tried the fit of my 96 and it fits but the harness is just a little different and now I have a chance to get one of a 97 for pennies. so can anyone tell me if I can put a 97 set of bags and module on a 2000 .. if the harness is like my 96 it only requires a minor snip to make it fit.. my concern is will the module part work and where can I find it on the car.

I am pretty sure they moved to a different generation of airbag around '99, so it likely would not work.

Call your dealer and have them do a parts interchange lookup.
