Can someone help me out with a Front Brake hose dilema..

Got a 2002 Explorer XLS 2WD 4.0L

ordered new front brake hoses and recieved what looks like a competely different design/routing.

every place (ford,autozone,rockauto etc etc..) shows exact part number that I have for my truck and even the model year before and after. just curious if anyone ever ran into this.

Are there any markings of the hose? You may have ordered the correct part but had the order fulfilled with the wrong part. Look up the hose at RockAuto, they have good pics of parts. It should look exactly like the pic.

2002 two-door Sport and four-door hoses are COMPLETELY different. What part numbers do you have?

Four-door

The part I ordered is the ACDELCO ones for the 4dr (which mine is) 18J4092 & 18J4093...

Looking at both the Sport and 4dr ones and either of them look like what on this truck?

Do yours look like the RA pics? If not, probably a part or box mix up as WaterBrat mentioned.

Yep the parts all look like everything on rockauto.. I cant even find a picture on rockauto of the same thing.

Searched the internet and found this pic out of some manual with the part I have but cannot find the part number.

Do the hoses on your Ex have the plastic brackets that line up with the ABS sensor cables. Try to compare the brackets on the ones you order with the ABS cables. Maybe the previous owner replaced them with the incorrect ones?

Its starting to look like they changed the design on me to possibly eliminate all the extra B.S on the factory hose:

I finally found a picture of the one I have with the ford part number on ebay: Ford 1L2Z-2078-AA Genuine OEM 2002-2005 Explorer Front Left Brake Flex Hose | eBay

When cross referencing that ford part number it sends me back to the hose that I have now which looks completely different! Hope this helps someone in the future.
