Hey guys,

98 xlt sohc 4wd. I'm going to go after the O2 sensors. They new ones haven't arrived yet, but I'd like to go ahead and open up the access panel under the center console to start soaking the sensor there with Kroil and to be ready when the new ones do show up.

Can I just take the console out and leave the large plug disconnected and still drive the car while I'm waiting?

I can't think of anything critical that the wiring could go to. rear radio controls, 6 disc cd changer, blower for rear air/heat.

Thanks.

I do not think it would be a problem, when I was replacing the carpet in our 99 Sport I had the radio on for some music & noticed the rear speakers did not work but could not find anything else that did not work outside of course the stuff in the console. BTW on our 99 Sport w/the 4.0 SOHC I was able to replace the r/s O2 sensor by taking off the r/s front wheel, removing the splash shield & pulling the inner fender well forward.
