That is some beautiful country. Could a stock Explorer make it down that road in the movie that says "the road out"?

Hey Jim, in about a month I am buying an 85 ranger short box reg cab off my buddy for 400 bucks that runs mint, just needs new brakes. It has a dinky little 2.8 in it so this summer I am just going to run it into the ground and then in the winter if it makes it that long(doubt it) it will see a 302 and fullsize or early bronco axles, then you will have to show me that area.

It could make it "down" for sure. Up would be possible in a stock explorer, but you`d probably have to get some momentum through some parts, and possibly break stuff!

The road out is a lot different than the road in was. There are two roads that can get there, I usually save the hard one for the uphill driving.

Silverblade, this spot is very close to sunrise lake, which you`ve probably heard about on BC4x4. a common run is to where I was, via a couple of powerline trails off the main road for some extra fun, some lunch, then out to sunrise lake, which has the kinda scary but not that hard V-rock.
People always rock-stack there out of fear I guess, and people constantly un-stack it again, it`s funny...
Here`s V-rock again anyways.

oops amoebae, but those hot springs are nice arent they

That is not correct. Only one amoeba will enter his brain. :p

I always chase my ameoba snorting with a big fat line of Cocaine. Old Hotsprings trick, kills em good and quick!

:p

Seriously, you scare me with the ameoba talk, and of course I don`t do coke.

-Never been to Ontario Bates, But I sure do hear negative stuff about Toronto. (the place where no one wants to go) :)

Then there`s that Mclean and Mclean song "Waddya do on a rainy night in Toronto?"

I`ll see for myself one day, gotta do a cross country tour one of these years, lotta time for that though.

Hehehe...... :nono:

Toronto is a very negative place. Avoid it like the plague!

I loved the "I think he's okay" line. That's just the confidence you want from a spotter.

well sounds like you guys had a good trip . i still havent met up with you guys yet , i have been lookin forward to doin a trip or casual meet with you guys. i still think you guys should come out to north van and we can do an easy run down the west lake road up cypress. a stock explorer can make it the whole way so there should be no problems. but yeah if you guys wanna do a trip somewhere else im also down for that. so ttyl guys

Hey that would be alright, I didn`t know anything was open around there. I guess in the future I will check out the Squamish area, but I have to find someone who knows that area I guess. Hut lake is closed apparently...
I`ll ask Carson about going over there with me. Got a worriesome engine knock right now though...

well thats no good about the engine knock. although my engine also has a pretty nast knock at around 2500rpm under load. time to start puttin the good fuel in i think , although does that actually do anything? but yes squamish , i have been up there a few times and there is deffinatly lots of possibilities. brome ridge is a pretty decent ride , its basically a FSR that is deactivated so there are small to medium ditches but they are no problem , the only times i have been up brome ridge before is when the 4x4 wasnt working so i only went about 3/4 the way up but i would deffinatly like to finnish that road. apparently there is quite the view from the top. if you all are interested one of these weekends in june i propose a trip up there.

haha oh yeah and about the cypress mountain being open im not sure about it anymore since BC Parks took over the the area last year. im up there alot and have never had problem on the west lake road before , but i was parked in one of the gravel parking lots with my gf and the parks ranger came up and gave me a parking ticket , i had a good laugh about that one.

Those are awsome pictures, thanx for sharing, the hot springs are just incredible.
