Hey ya'll , I have 96 Ford F150 with 4.9 manual transmission. I am in the process of fixing the clutch slave cylinder. I have removed the starter, drained the transmission, removed the slave cylinder line, removed the drive shaft, taken off the cross bar under the transmission, removed all bolts from bell housing, removed the bolts from cover plate. AND still the transmission wont drop!! I have tied pry bar wiggle the dang thing it wont budge! I have read and watched videos and everybody just slides the thing and drops it. What am I missing?? PLEASE HELP ! need truck back up and running for work.

Is there any separation around the bell housing (like it is loose but hung up on the input shaft)? Or is it not moving at all? There might be another bolt you missed. It might be hung up on the dowel pins in the bell housing. Putting some support under the back of the trans case might help take any binding off the input shaft. If you are sure you have all the bell housing bolts, try some more prying and/or a dead-blow mallet. It will probably come apart. If you can see the dowel pins, spray them down with some Kroil or PB Blaster.
