So i was on this site a while back, and since then, the truck hasnt changed much, still kickin.

I want to do a minor overhaul on it. Tune up, flush fluids (coolant, transmission, power steering, etc...) and mabye try one of the 'Magic Motor' products (seafoam or Restore) and replace my corroded battery cables.

Im looking to just improve the truck overall, give it a little more go, and give it a bit mopre reliability, and improve my 12.5 average MPG.

I just put brand new tires on it yesterday, and did a 4 wheel alignment.

What else do you guys suggest?
I also mentioned in my intro post that i wanted to improve the power a bit, and i still do. What do you guys/girls suggest for good bang for the buck mods? mabye ground my exhaust? Im also thinking about trying the turbonator. It says it gives 35+ hp and good gas mileage.

Ok, i have to admit, i was joking about that last part. I do know quite a bit about performance engines, but mostly small displacement hondas (which is just about all of them).

Im in california, so i'd like to stay carb legal.

I also think i forgot to mention. My drivers window doesnt roll down. If i hit the button, it moves down only ~1/4 inch, then i hit it again, and nothing, then again and it moves 1/4 inch, then again and nothing, rinse and repeat till the window makes it down.

What could cause this? I dont think it could be the ground, because all windows would do this. Could it be the motor? but it still moves and goes up perfect. Is the switch worn out? The only thing that confuses me is why it isnt random. Its clearly down/not down/down/not down and moves the same amount every time.

If that does not do it, there is a black box inside the drivers door, above the door interior light. That's the actual 'brain' for the windows. Got a new one at the bone yard for $10. My issue was the window stayed down & only went up if you pushed the button then disconnected it (tricky on the highway)

i greased it up yesterday, and no luck, still does exactly the same thing. Ill probably hit up a junk yard this weekend and see what they got.

I thought that only the front alignment was adjustable.

i dunno, it was 60 bucks for a 4 wheel alignment. Mabye they just put 4w alignment all the time?

On a side note with the windows: The buttons are interchangable, so remove the control pad from the door, then remove the issue window button. Replace it with the non-issue button. If that solves the problem, you need a button. If not, get that brain I spoke of.

So ive been reading arouind the forum a bit, it it made me remember some problems i have.

When i go into 4wd mode (little push buttom) i cant come back out. I push the button, and it makes a really loud 'whirring' sound, gets worse with speed. The only way ive found to get it back into 2wd mode is to push the button, and leave the car off for a while.

is there an easy fix for it? i dont use 4wd very much at all, so i can live with it if its gonna cost $$$

Manual says to drive straight in the opposite direction for about 10 feet. I have the same issue as you but my noise is a clicking, like a gear is not engaged, & only on the passanger side. Found out the auto hub gears are worn, but have not fixed it yet. Tons of posts about going to manual hubs, & I have not decided what to do yet. When it does happen to me, I usually stop, disengage, engage. Drive in reverse then stop, disengage, drive forward. My problem is a non-issue now the weather is above New England freezing, but come November I will have to deal with it again, so hoping to do something over the summer.

yeah its kind of a solid rear axle with nothing to align... but ok.
