so my truck was pouring out straight gas and after figuring out why , I have a bad cat on bank 2 my mechanic said normally a 1k job told him it's not happening then I called him to say we're pretty much family I know you can do it for half, in a few hours I'm going back to the shop when all employees are gone and we are going to talk about other ways of fixing it , I live in Florida with no emissions testing so how loud will my ex be if I cut the cats off

If your truck was "pouring out gas" then you have way more problems then a cat. If your engine is running really rich and unburnt fuel is coming out then you have some other problems and yes your cat is also bad form over heating from running rich and burning off the fuel and putting a new cat in will not fix the problem. Far as cats. Rockauto has some cheap options and then just has a muffler shop install it. if you cant do it yourself.

Mechanic said straight fuel was coming out of the back with the cel only shows one cat is bad and how much would it cost to cut off cat and then do it straight back I need the cheapest way to fix this issue and spending 300 on a catalytic converter will really suck right now

sorry but your mechanic doesnt know what hes talking about. BTW every car out there will spit out condensation until it fully warms up. and if it really was fuel then you have injectors stuck open and it should be running like crap

This may have contributed to the cat issue. If you check his previous posts this all started by a near hydro lock playing in water.

From the forum rules: "No discussions about removing catalytic converters. It's illegal!"
Please don't mention it again or thread will be deleted.

The gas pretty much smoothed out the cat and he showed me on the computer of the bay 2 trying to work but it spikes up as if a heart rate monitor , also getting about 9 mpg so gives me more of a reason it's the catalytic converters
