Have a new X in the family at work, buddy bought a 1996 XLT with premium sound and a changer in the armrest. Both the cluster and radio are not working well, and he wants to get a newer Explorer/Ranger/Econoline, etc... radio and cluster (which he has replaced, so it's green now) to stick in there but wants to be able to have the rear radio controls for his kids, so a stocker is the desired piece.

Is there a factory unit with the green display that we can look for locally that will run the CD changer and still use this plug?

His connector:

Anyone? :\

'98 was the first year for the green, and the first year for the T100 radio harness. You will have to convet your P100 harness into a T100. And pretty much any clip in radio from '98+ will work.

A CD/Cassette from a '98-'01 Explorer would be ideal. Has very good functionality and will control a changer.

That harness should do all you need.

Awesome! Thanks IAT! Buddy ordered the harness today...

explorerforum FTW!
