I just want to know if a 6 disc cd changer will fit into the center counsol?
How much mod. will it take?
Is there a better place?

I would imagine it would work..I mean ford puts a 6 disk in there from factory..also I have heard of 10 disks fitting in there.

It all depend on 2 things. What console you have, and what changer you want to put in. In my 99 I was able to fit a 12 disc changer, but that same changer would not fit in my 96. My 99 has the full floor console and the armrest part is bigger. I have installed many changer in all years of Explorers. Only way you will know is to try. Hope that helps

Since you have a 92 (I checked your profile)..... I put mine in the center console (92 EB), and I had to cut the aluminum bracket (NOT affecting the holding of the console itself) to make it fit. But each changer is different so measure, then measure again!!

I put in a JBL 6pack changer w/ the FM modulator. (from Circuit City)

The cd changer is a Kenwood 6-disc. I will be

Well installed my new sound system in my truck. Kenwood cass, with flip face, new door
speaker 120w 5x7, new compition amp 300w, and
new 8" sub 350w. And of course the CD changer
in the counsol. I only took two days, but it sounds great. Dead Link Removed
