CD Changer Gives Message CD-E2??

I have a 96 Explorer with the jbl MACH audio system, witht he factory 6 disc CD changer in the center console. I get a message saying cd-e2 when i try to play a cd, if I shake the console while its trying to play it may work, also i hear a ticking sound as it trys to play just before i get the Cd-e2 Message.
