I know that this is gonna come off as a dumb question no matter how I ask it, but here goes. What are my options for my CD Player as I can't get it to play any ripped CD. Only original CDs will play. I have a monstrous MP3 collection and want my tunes in my vehicle. I could buy an aftermarket player but would rather not. Any help guys? Be nice now.

You need to do one of the follow. Buy an aftermarket cd player that plays MP3s or use an MP3 player and an FM transmitter. Will it play a cd if you burn the songs not in MP3 format, wav I believe?

I would bet with it being a factory CD player & given it's age it will not play any CDR or CDRW disc no matter how they are formatted.

Your best option is to buy an after market HU.
Look here for ones that will fit: www.crutchfield.com

Convert your mp3 collection to regular cd format (.cda). Regular cd players will only play this. Quality wouldnt be that great but at least thats a working option. Unfortunately, this will be costly since you would have 20 songs at most per cd.

option 2 will be as already suggested. Get yourself an mp3 player deck / headunit or if you have an ipod or mp3 player find a way to connect it to your existing deck

If you have a cassette player oem type ford radio then you can use one of those cassette input adaptor (of course the sound wont be the best)

another choice is connect an mp3 player to a fm transmitter and tune your radio to that channel

and the other option is to get one of those integration units. Some existing ford headunits that has a cd changer option is usually capable of controlling these aux input adapter. One brand is called ipod2car/peripheral electronics and its basically a box that connects to your existing HU then you plug an ipod to it and control most of the ipods function from the headunit.

These are just some choices and they may NOT be all applicable to you depending on your existing HU from ford

Thanks guys. I really like the 6 disk Changer and I do want to keep the stock HU if at all possible. This info narrows down my path. Thanks!!!

Hey guys, I ripped a few disks as CDA as suggested, and they worked great. Thanks! Now if I can just get the sub working. I have absoloutley no bass.
