center console removal?

l'm not sure what you call this. Is this the center console? Whatever it is, I'm trying to take it out. Do I just yank it up towards me? If I knew the name, I could probably find a DIY tutorial on it. thx in advance

I appreciate the effort. I actually have the first gen console (as seen in my pic). The second link for the second gen console. According to the first link, it sounds like I have to begin unbolting from the back...still a little confusing, but if anyone has done this...could you please clarify the removal of the plastic center piece? I really don't need to remove the console storage compartment, just what's pictured. I want to repaint it thx

Best way is to grab hold at the rear most cup-holder on both sides and pull straight up. This sorta pivots it near the front pulling those clips out as well with little effort. I know! Its scary at first but then it lifts right out.

i can't even get my fingers underneath it...am i suppose to pry it with something?

I don't think so. I'm sure I just grabbed hold and pulled straight up mostly. Like i said it'll sorta pivot on the front clips as they pull free.

awesome! I got it out! thanks for the tip. I moved the chair back all the way to get some leverage and out it went! thanks bud!
