How do i change the code for the keyless entry on my friends 3rd gen doors? I forget what they are called, (the numbers by the handle of the drivers door)

thanks, that helps out alot. I just wish it had pictures but i will figure it out i guess. She just broke up with her tool boyfriend and he knows the code and she doesnt want him to touch her stuff or do any silly business.

Hopefully she was using a personal code she programmed in because the factory door code cannot be changed or erased. If the ex knows the factory code there is nada she can do about it except replace the security module, and the dealer will have to do that. Essentially there can be 2 codes, the factory one and a personal one. The personal one can be changed but not the one from the factory.

ya i will have to ask her i guess. thanks for the help

Remove the rear passenger panel where the sub/3rd row seat is/should be. Behind that panel is a computer for something, but stickered on it should be the 5 digit factory entry code. She could then look into the owners manual to see how to change it herself once you find that code. That's how I found mine. I also used one of them little mirrors with the extension on it so I didn't have to take the entire panel off, just pulled it about halfway to get a peek in. Hope this helps.

The factory code is permanent for the module it is printed on. The one code that can be changed is not permanent. That's why it's not wise to share the factory code with anyone, share the personal code you create. The code modules can be changed.

To change or add the personal code, enter the factory code, then press "1", then enter the new five digit code.

Tool boyfriends are very easy to deal with. :shoot:

Maybe she can find a way to disconnect it for a while..... in a couple months plug it back in.....
