Changing Brakes ?

a buddy of mine has a ford explorer maybe 2000 or 2001 and would like to chnage the brakes any one know of a DYI for chnaging brakes ? any help would be great

Pretty straight forward. Just start removing things. Cut and dry.
 






I've run across about three on this site.

Can't remember exactly, but look through the "Useable Threads" area, and then use the search function if there isn't a writeup in that area. It really is simple. First time it took me about 1.5 hours. Now, I could do them in 20 minutes or so.
Apparently though, you really should torque your lugs properly when remounting tires.

Get a factory service manual- it will have all of the information you need, and can answer most anyu questions.
A second choice would be one of the compilations put out by clymers, Chilton, or Haynes- they would all cover the brakle job and well worth the 20 bucks or so- not as useful as the 100 service manual, but will get you throuhg the simple stuff, althouhg they are not year (or even model) specific usually.

And don't forget about the brake caliper bolts. Do a search on it.
