1996 Ford Explorer XLT
Hey guys! I was talking to my dad about lifting my Explorer. It's a 1996 Ford Explorer XLT with the 4.0 V6 and auto trans. We we were talking about moving the rear end from on top of the leaf springs, to under them. We know what we need to do, we just don't know what works best, we're racecar drivers. But we will need to get new spindles up front, and I've been trying to look for Explorer spindles. But the most I could find were just stock ones. And so I saw Ford Ranger spindles. And I was wondering if Ranger spindles are the same as Explorer spindles, and what are the best ones to get for a 17 year old high school student?
Thanks guys!

If you do a SOA = Spring over axle , It will give you around 5" or more of lift with stock leaf springs , I have seen people use Ranger spindles on here ,but they were 2wd I do believe , do some searching on here and you should find some answers , as well as others will chime in eventually and let you know ! . oh , And Welcome to The Forum ! .

Yeah, I was planning on doing the spring over axle. But as I was looking further into spindles, and finding out more info, I couldn't find spindles to fit my year model explorer. And I would find 97-2000 year model spindles for the Ranger, but I heard that went to, or from torsion bars, so they wouldn't fit my stock mounts. See, I'm trying to do as little work as possible, for a better look. And thanks!

If its 4wd i think i heard you had to drop everything down cause 5 inches was to high why dont you just do torsion twist for 2 inches and shackles or leaf spring mod for 2 inches. Or even a body lift
