Just wondering what some of the best, cheapest, must do additions to an explorer might be for someone on a very tight budget? Just purchased an 92 XL and am gearing it up for some off roading. Any suggestions?

grease the front end so nothing ####s up lol

allot of guys put in a cb, or a stereo and call that a mod---

I think Personally to make a trail rig -- gears, tires and lockers are the big things, then shocks, lift-- then you start getting into money with Chrome molly shafts, engine mods, tranny mods ect ect ect. You can spend as much or as little as you want-- but spend it wisely, brand new chrome colored neon lights for your rims might look cool (to somone) but it won't make it perform any better.

There is a zip tie-accelerator mod that is cheap and easy to do, and some air intake mods, as well as smaller lift kits (from j-yard parts f-150 springs, ect ect) this site is full of them.

Good luck!
