check charging system light

I Have an 05 explorer 4.0 that I put a new battery in last week because it had two dead cells. Now today my check charging system light came on any help to what this could be? Thanks for your help

check your voltages, before i replaced my alt., key off, 12.8 volts, running 11.8 volts.
After the reman alt, 12.8 , 13.3-14volts running.

There is a good chance with the battery going bad, it might have also taken the Alternator with it.
 






sounds like a dying alternator has drained the batteries.
 






Don't try testing your alternator by disconnecting your battery while the truck is running. It's a big no no.
Take the alternator out and PepBoys will test if for "free".
 






Alternator shot had to replace also had him check the oil leak on rear. Turned out to be the oil seal on axle. Expensive day
