The "check engine" light has been on for a while so I took my 97 Explorer SOHC V6 4x4 to Auto Zone and they read the codes for free.

The codes were:
P0153 The o2 sensor has slow response
P1151 Unknown?
P0430 Something about the catalytic converter?

Can anyone tell me what these really mean? The guy said maybe the wiring to the o2 sensor was loose which could be why the o2 sensor slow response code came up. He erased all 3 codes and said to see if the check engine light comes back on and then have the codes read again to see if they are the same.

What is a P1151? He said it was a Ford specific code and his tester couldn't tell him exactly what it meant.

Thanks!

P1151 Lack of Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor Switch - Sensor Indicates Lean - Bank No. 2

1151 is probably whatever 0151 is. Ford has a habit of doing that. I'm guessing your O2 wiring is indeed loose or you need some new O2 sensors.
