My check engine light came on got it scanned an i was told small evap leak

Where could i start looking ?
If it was fixed would the light go off by itself ?

I already checked gas cap that is fine

I also have a mechanics choice warranty 80/20 but i cant get into a shop till next week to have it looked at hopefully if i cant fix it it is covered by the warranty

Have you had the spare tire down? Check the hoses at the canister above your spare tire.

no i have not touched the spare, but if whatever the problem is gets fixed does the light go out by itself?

if you successfully fix the problem, disconnecting the battery for 30 min should reset it. if you havent fixed it, the light will come back on over time.

ranchero is in the right area i had this issue before on multiple cars and it is usually the evap purge solenoid or the hoses are dried and cracked. my whole life i have been up north and repeatedly see the rubber hoses for vacuum and evap systems dry rot and flake apart. being in that location it is subject to salt corrosion and the road salt eats the hose really quick. i recommend you drop your spare and take a peak 9 times out of 10 thats where the problem lies.
