I have a problem that o cured today. I have a 93 explorer and took it for a spin and lately here in California we been extremely hot. Well today it was around 100 degrees F. Well after driving it for awhile i noticed that the check engine light came on. I notice nothing severely wrong with how it ran although a slight running rough. The temp gauge ran about half way but no more than that. Do you think this can be cause by coolant temperatures maybe are little to high. Because when it would be running i would stop somewhere like the store and shut the engine off. Then i would come out start it up again and the engine light would be off. I would then drive it for like 5 minutes or so and then it would come on again. What you can say of this?

you need to pull the codes. There are threads here that tell you how to do it.
If I was to guess, maybe O2 sensor.

Could also be the throttle position sensor. Most autozones will pull codes for free. Call ahead to verify.
