My check engine light came on, and I pulled into an AutoZone yesterday to see what was happening. Code was PO153, and the guy behind the counter told me it meant the "oxygen sensor 1 in bank 2 was too slow during testing". He suggested I fix it myself, but I'm very novice and I thought I'd look around the forum a little bit to see what I could see.
From what I can tell, the O2 sensor is as likely to be the problem as it is to simply be symptomatic of another problem - MAF, FPR, etc. So I'm not sure entirely where to start.
I'm enjoying gaining a little bit of knowledge about my car, so I'd be excited to take on the challenge of replacing the FPR, cleaning the MAF, and replacing the O2 sensors... As long as I'm not getting myself in too deep, that is. But I don't want to go overboard and I don't want to waste my time or money.
Where should I start with all of this? Is it worth getting the grease on my own hands, or is it too much for a novice?
Thanks (a lot) in advance...
