I just purchased my '97 XLT 2 weeks ago and the check engine light has come on. It came on about 300 miles after I bought it, but the dealer must have cleared it when they were fixing my temp gauge. It came on again yesterday which is about 1500 miles after it came on the first time.

The car doesn't seem to run any different but I did notice that after the light came on the air from the heater started blowing a lot warmer??

I do have a warranty on the vehicle but with a $100 deductable, so I would like to trouble shoot as much as possible before having to shell out money to bring it in.

Along with this the power mirrors stopped working and the cruise control does not work either ( not even a light on the instrument cluster when pushed on ).

So you know, the car has 72k miles on it. Thanks for your help.

this does not belong in explorer 911. moving to the correct area.

thanks,

To troubleshoot, you MUST get it scanned for the trouble code and procede from there.

3 months warranty

check the paperwork you got when you bought it. if you only bought 3 weeks ago i would take it right back to the dealer. usually you get a 3 month warranty when you buy it.
