Seems high to me especially considering he uses stock heads.he also list 92tm as a head cast number and they never made a 92tm:nono:

Yeah that's strange......RockAuto also lists a 92TM head casting....

Im pretty sure they didnt make one.I have a set of heads out in the garage from my 92.ill go double check, have been known to be wrong.lol

I guess I'd buy a short block from them and then spec. everything and slap some aftermarket heads on it.

Perhaps they have the aftermarket heads on request?

I'll call and see what they have to say for themselves.

Kinda seems like the 92Tm was one year only for ranger's.

Looks to be associated with Rangers when searched for.

You could build a long block with a m328hv oil pump, cam and aftermarket heads for around $1200ish

Yeah, I was just thinking about the guy who needs the three day shipping get it in get it done situation.

Time saver. Like me for instance.....I have a spot where I could do a swap but it would have to be done in 1 day and gone.

Hey, jd4242

You got a line on aftermarket heads for less than $600.00 per pair?

Yeah, so? It's on "request backorder", meaning they don't have any engines to rebuild to sell you a long block from.

Given what freight shipping costs, you'd really be better off just having the original engine rebuilt locally, or DIY over a period of months and wind up with a better end product overall, with better components and knowing it was done right and which corners were cut where.

If you need a running motor in the meantime, and a second vehicle isn't an option, geting a salvage yard special can be worth it, although it can be possible to find an entire first gen for cheap, pull the motor/trans, part out what you don't need, scrap the rest if it's in poor shape, and you wind up with two motors/transmissions for less than it would have cost you to buy a long block.

There is no 92/94TM head designation I've ever heard of for the 4.0L OHV V6, OE Ford was only 90TM for the 91-92 and 93TM for the 93-94. There may be 92TM/94TM for other engines, though.

Nice!

King is asking $499.00 on their web site, $325.00 is more like it.

EQ use to sell them for around $125 & assembled like $225 .I should have bought a spare set if I would have know they stop making them.

Those images are great comparison info for "new" verses "remans"

check it out:

Notice the water ports and bore holes: square water port = "new"
: threaded bore plugs = "new"

NOT NEW:

Hope their not actually selling the one in the picture: see the dented valve guide?

Good find,

I think I'll have to buy a set just in case.

Their not gonna get cheaper down the road.

I think "dono" runs kings and pretty sure they were new style. I think my stock ones has threaded plugs tho...ill check that and what tm they are

O wait the second pic is from eq...I know those are new cast.I have bought a couple sets from them.the pic is not what they look like in person

I would hope a even a reman would have the plugs knocked out and tap'd for threaded plugs.

Are the water port differences 90TM vs. 93TM

Not externally

Anyhow the pic is probably just some junk they had for the photo op.

But it's good info for the shopper-be-ware method.

I don't think I would want that water port mismatch on my engine.
