Check this out, $1849.00 seems reasonable for a 4.0L long block.

I have a set of King 95TM assembled heads and they are still running well. I also believe they are the new style with plugs in the water-bore holes. I also got them when they were on special for $325 assembled, each and $75 each for shipping to Alaska.

They should be 98tm with the small exhaust ports even if they list them as 95-98tm

Quick Hello from Jay at Engineguy

Hello Everyone!

I saw this thread with a link to our website and thought it better that I help to answer your questions directly - rather than allow for speculation.

The original link is for an ATK engine. ATK is LKQ's Remanufacturing arm; and you can find them rebranded by many suppliers. We supply the complete ATK inventory as well as our own EngineGuy branded engines in order to maximize availability for our customers - no one wants to wait for an engine. That is also why our inventory is live - if you can add to cart, it will ship today (orders before 2pm CST).

I also must note that our engineguy 4.0L OHV is actually quite a bit less: $1704.99

For Example, our Vin X 4.0 Liter OHV Ford Longblock Engine for a 1991-1992 Ranger, Explorer M/T is actually $1704.99 (shipping and core pickup included). This is built to OE spec in our Addison, TX facility. It has a 3 year/100k mi warranty.

This isn't a sales pitch - I'm just posting to clarify. Please feel free to post your questions to this thread; or email me directly.

I plan to go though this thread and reply to any concerns previously voiced.

Thanks for this opportunity,

Jay

I would consult with Rick before you answer to many questions or give to much info out:salute:

Yes, you are correct. The exhaust is noticeably smaller, but I don't notice the difference. I do notice the bump up in compression though. For NA purposes, they work well. For FI, port work is obviously needed.

Yea its not noticeable in a stock motor power wise (ports that is)..I too noticed the increase in compression as well as mpg.also IF you or anyone plans on port work, most guys prefer the smaller rounder ports of the 98tm to start with;)
