okay, so this really sucks and i'm wondering if anyone else has noticed it happening. hey y'all take a look at the back doors on your four door explorer and please let me know if this is happening to you too. it seems that the metal surrounding the rivet holding the door lock actuators to the doors is (ugh!) tearing! if you open the back door and look about 8 inches below the door latch and kiddie lock, you will find a black rivet. what i am trying to find out is whether this is a common occurence or not. these pics are of my '95 xlt. i checked my wifes '97 xlt and there is no evidence of any of this damage. i noticed this first on my passenger door. it started out much smaller, less than i currently have on the driver door, and just kept growing. i just this weekend noticed it happening on the driver side, and judging by how things have been going, i can only assume that it will get worse. let me conclude by saying that both door locks still work fine, but i can't even comprehend that the actuators would have this much torque behind them! if i can get some sort of consensus of this happening to alot of us, maybe we'll be able to get ford to do something about it. (it could happen!!)
