The time has come to either rebuild or replace the engine. With over 200K it has some valve guide and stem issues, lots of oil comsumption and for the price of labor for a rebuild I may consider a new engine as well. So...
1) Would I get the same performance with a quality rebuild vs. a new engine? The X is going to remain the work truck.
2) Do you know of some good rebuild shops in the area that you have had experience with?
3) Do you know of a good local engine source or shop that specializes in new engines?
I thank you for your help and would like to hear your opinions, good and bad, regarding the above.
