Hi All,

I'm finally getting around to installing the rear child seat tether anchor on my '96 XLT. I was given a kit for free a couple years ago, and the instructions start off with removing the Rear Scuff Plate which is held on by 6 screws. Unless I'm not looking in the right area, these scres are not to be found. I don't see any screw hole covers either, and the scuff plate seems to be on solid piece that sits on top of the end of the carpeting.

If anyone can tell me how to locate these screws and remove the plate, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Also, some other posts indicated that Ford is obligated to install tether anchors for free. Anyone know if this is true ??

Thanks,
Richard

VW installed the rear seat latches for free on my Passat. I assume other manufacturers would be too.

Anyone have instructions from the manual on the "proper" way to install an infant car seat in an '00 4 door?

Thanks,

Matt
