CAP is back building again, started August 2nd

This update just came out and Ford has some chips now.

Ford just can't catch a break...

Nah, the railroad insurance just bought a bunch of trucks. At worst there will only be lost profit. They will make more.

Tell that to their customers who have been impatiently waiting for their new trucks.

I also read an article that due to the situation with the chip supply, Ford was deleting the Stop/Start feature from some F-150s. That should make quite a few people happy.

They can have mine if they like...lol.

Mine too! It contributed to a dead battery at 19,000 miles. Now with the new battery, the engine stops even more frequently which is really annoying on a hot summer day!

The auto stop/start feature shouldn't activate on a hot day if the A/C is running. I think mine has only activated once or twice this Spring/Summer period.

Mine activates way too often. My thermostat is set to 71 and it's over 90 degress out. It's so annoying! And unlike a lot of drivers I use the auto setting and thermostat the way it was meant to be used and don't manully set fan speed, etc. I leave it in auto at all times. Engine will kick back on before the light changes which is even more annoying because it shouldn't have gone off to begin with.

I agree it should not have shut off. Mine is also on Auto, set at 72 and temps outside have been around mid to high 80s. Can't recall the last time it shut off.

It's not like there's an adjustment to this auto stop/start feature. The dealer will say there's nothing wrong with the vehicle. I keep the sunshade closed too maybe that's a factor.

I wonder if Ford sent some guys to the train derailment to salvage the chips in the modules......LMAO

Mine activates even with the A/C on only for it to be disabled shortly. Always been that way.

Weird thing, sometimes the auto start/stop doesnt activate at all even with the A/C off on hot days. There's days I prefer cruising with the windows down and open sun roof.

Auto stop activating is not just a function of HVAC temperature and load but also engine temperature and battery charge. If the battery is weak then it will activate less until the battery is charged up. Also it won't activate if the engine coolant is cold and needs to warm up like on a cold winter day.

For everyone complaining about the auto start/stop, just get an auto stop eliminator and the problem is now a distant memory.

^ Or better still, keep complaining until Ford realizes this is a feature their customers do not want unless they can easily disable it, and not just every time they start to drive, without a vehicle alteration or buying parts. It's not clever to fix this nonsense, just a burden that a paying customer shouldn't have to face.

I agree and now I know from a friend who has a Tiguan and another with an A8, both of which allow you to permanently turn off the feature by holding the button for 5 seconds. Why can't all manufacturers offer that?
