Hello.

Overnight my 98 Explorer Sport SOHC seems to have developed a problem at low rpms.

In drive, while stopped at a stop sign, my rpms head down to 400-600, and it's as if it will die (it has not though). This occurs whether warm or cold. It doesnt sound very smooth at idle either. There is no check engine lights coming on.

At high speeds, I notice nothing.

A bad O2 sensor somewhere?
Any ideas before I take it to the Ford people?

IAC Valve

Could this be a possible IAC valve issue? You may wish to look there. Oodles and Oodles of info on that problem.
