Recently my X has been having chuggy (for wont of a better term) start-ups when starting cold but when warm no probs.
Any ideas anyone?
I was having similar probs when driving but changed fuel, I was using Woolworths crap fuel, & it got better straight away.
I use an injector cleaner (Morey's/Flash-lube) every now & then just to play it safe as I do use & have been using E10 ethanol fuel on my last 2 X's without a prob for over 3yrs.
Thanks. :D

p.s. Down here E10 fuels are usually 95 octane to help them burn better but some are 91 octane.

hi,
sounds like what mine is doing,
mine revs really hard for a few seconds then is rough for the first mile or so,
but only when cold,

been told it's the lower intake gaskets,

i'm doing mine this weekend (if i can get hold of the gaskets),

Yeah mine only chuggs for about about 50-60sec, if the cars been in the sun all day before 1st start its usually fine as well.
Who told you it was lower intake gaskets? someone on here or a mechanic.

p.s. thanks for the info.:D

it was on another forum,
apparently it's a common problem,
my gaskets should arrive today and i'll fit them tonight,
i'll let you know how i get on,

hi,
well, did them last night and all is now fine,
no high revs first thing and no chuggyness,

it was pretty easy to do,
i read the haynes manual AFTER doing the job and you don't need to do half of what they say,

the old seals were really brittle,

hope this helps,

hi,
took about an hour and a half,
ordered the gaskets monday and they arrived tuesday morning,
a bit pricey tho,

at least the jobs done,
not sure about mileage as i only drive a few miles to work,
