I have a 91 explorer, 4x4 with a clacking lifter. It has 50k miles on a rebuilt motor. When I start it in the morning it clacks a lot then gets a little quieter as it warms up. There seems to be no performance problem and the clacking goes away at the higher rpms and speed.

Anyone got a solutions?

Thanks: rolleyes:

Live with it , most of the explorers that i have seen do the same thing..Are you sure its not the fuel injectors clicking cause some times they do that and if it was a rebuild did they do any valve train work?.................just my opinion

You might not be getting enough oil to the upper part of your motor. Some trucks do make noises when first started in the morning, the oil still hasn't made it's way to your lifters. How's your oil pressure ? Have you done an oild change lately ? maybe your low on oil. Who did the rebuild ?
