I just put a receiver hitch on the front of my 1997 XLT. I got it from Explorer Express for $119 (I think). Call them to see if they have one for 1994....

I am building a class three hitch for the front of my 1994 explorer. The 2" opening will be even with the front license plate. I am using the class 3 from a 1994 bronco all I have left to do is weld the side plates. It bolts through the holes on the bottom of the frame, the holes have been drilled out to 3/4 inch.

Hey guys and gals,

Anyone put a Class III hitch on the front of their '94 or earlier? I have been wondering about this but didn't know if it was feasible. Also, anyone with plans on how to build a custom 2 to 4 inch susp. lift for low cash, let me know.

I will be using the Pre-Rinner bumper w/ recvr from James Duff. Looks good and has the receiver built in for an 8000 lbs winch.
