Anyone tried one of those clear bras on the front of their truck (or other car)? Did you like it? If so, what kind was it?

Thanks.

I dont like bras, they trap dirt under them and gradually rub it into your paint scratching it all up.

ive never seen one so for looks i cant give my opinion. but like texplorer said they can cause damage if you dont maintain it. i used a black one for years on my other vehilce and had no probs but i took it off and cleaned under it every couple days. my explorer does have paint blemishes from the previous onwner using one.

Clear bras have been out for a little while, but are still relatively new. They are nothing like traditional bras. They are basically clear vinyl with an adhesive backing that is custom cut/shaped for each vehicle. They are supposed to be transparent and still protect the paint.

Supposedly they never "yellow" like many clear plastics do when subjected to UV rays. But, I'm a little skeptical about that.

Just wondering if anyone has tried one, and if they had a good experience with it.

i hear alot of good things about the 3m ones and they have a great warranty but i have never had one. just cant see putting one on a 10 yr old vehicle with almost 100k.

i've see the clear bug deflectors and they look good.

I have seen them on some other cars, you can hardly even see them...They look like they work good. I have heard real good things about the 3M ones...

does anyone know where to get the 3m stuff?

Yea, I have seen them and would like to get a set up for the front of my truck. However, He can't match the contours of the front lower portion. The old gray part that was painted black.

a reputable col. shop. i only one in my area that carries it. you could call 3M.

re: blackmagic

its probably not the guy doing it....the pieces are laser cut mased on factory specifications. any changes would throw it off. we got a quote for my uncles new vette and they had to actually see a picture to know which kit. you could have everything else done though, hood, mirrors, lights. they are sold in pieces.

I think this is good enough reason NOT to get one.

But, I think the clear bras are kind of like an adhesive type thing. So they won't allow anything to get under it seeing as how they are, I guess, stuck to your hood. I've heard they work great and I've seen them installed on Horsepower TV on the Speed Channel.

i worked at an Infiniti dealer and we used to put those 3M clearbras on cars all the time. i never heard of any complaints or anything but i do remember them turning SLIGHTLY yellow over a few years when applied to white cars, on darker colors it wasn't noticable. all the ones we had were precut to the different Infiniti models, btw. if i was gettin a new car its something i'd definitely look into if it was available
