I need a question answered. When you install a lift kit, you dont get any extra ground clearance to the pumpkins, right? The only clearance that is gained is by using larger tires and a lift kit allows larger tires than stock.

Not between the wheels, but the body is higher off the ground. That'll improve the approach, departure and breakover angles, making it less likely to scrape or rip off items like bumpers, cats, muffler, tailpipes etc. when approaching and going over obstacles. Shorter wheelbases have the same effect, like in Jeep CJ and the like.
