Clicking noise rear inside panel

When I turn the key on, I hear a clicking sound inside left rear panel of my 2006 Ford Explore. The clicking sound is right under the lock button for the tailgate on the left rear inside panel next to the third row seats. What is behind the panel?

Sounds like a blend door actuator with stripped gears. Link is from the 2002-05 sub forum, 2006 "should" be similar. GL
