I have a 2002 XLS 4WD

A while back I started hearing a slight clicking noise while driving very slowly through a parking lot. Well, now it's getting louder and I hear it both when I'm slowing down or when I'm accelerating but going at a slow rate of speed. My b/f says he thinks it's the wheel bearings...does this sound right? If so, is this something that can be repaired easily or will it cost me a lot of $$

I just had my truck in the shop - they rebuilt the transmission. Is this related at all? I'm assuming the wheel bearings would not be under warranty...

Sorry if I sound like an idiot...

It could possibly be related to the transmission but probably not. Where does it appear that the clicking is coming from? Up front? in the rear? The wheel bearings for your 4X4 would probably be a decent coin to replace. .. I have a 1994 2 wheel drive and on the front they are easy, and I know on 4X4 versions they are more in depth.

Locate where the clicking is coming from then you'll be able to properly diagnose this problem.

The noise is coming from under the truck - sounds like the rear end. It's not under the hood. My dad mentioned it could be the differential but I have no clue.

I was just wondering if anyone else experienced this or had an idea. Guess I'll just get it to a shop AGAIN.
