Climate control problems

Hey all,

I have a nagging problem with the auto climate control. I tried the test but it does not give a code.

The problem is when accelerating or going up a hill I loose dash air. is fogs the windows up by reverting to defrost and blowing on the windshield.

I'm sure some knows just what is causing this.

You probably have a vacuum leak somewhere in the A/C system. The door(s) that are used to divert the air to the windshield are operated by a vacuum motor which moves the door to the position you choose. When you start accelerating or climbing a hill, engine vacuum drops. Normally, there is enough vacuum stored in a vacuum storage tank to compensate for the loss of engine vacuum, but if you have a leak somewhere, it is not enough to hold the door in position.

Welcome to this forum! The hard plastic lines usually crack in the area where the small rubber coupling plugs onto the vacuum servo piston.

Thanks guys,

I dug in a followed the vacuum to the problem the white vac line going to the engine compartment from the passengers side coupled with the black line is hooked to nothing. It has a 90 degree elbow as to connect to a vacuum switch but I have no idea what it hooks to. Any help woul be great. Although plugging it has solved my issue. I'm sure something is not getting the vacuum it needs.

Have you looked at the vacuum line diagram on the underside of the hood? That may give you a clue.
