I'm not afraid to dump some coin into my ST in the next couple of years. I'm almost over my Ford purchased Warranty on my 2010.

It's sitting at 98000km right now.

I've been considering just what might be a good swap or modification. My goal isn't extreme performance. It's about better performance and better economy.

Any thoughts on the following:

1) ModBox M90 supercharger kit for my current 4.0L
2) EcoBoost 3.5 Swap
3) Coyote 5.0L Swap
4) Something different... old 5.0L ?!

I'd really like to have fuel mileage like what the EcoBoost's get, but I don't think the Coyote would be that bad either in a typical commuter drive pattern.

Thinking the M90 route on the current 4.0L with <5lbs of boost wouldn't be bad on fuel, but not like the EcoBoost...

Thoughts appreciated...

I have wondered about a turbo diesel transplant.

I'd go ecoboost or 5.0. I have the 4.6 4wd and get over 18 mpg with my commute. It's a matter of getting things to fit. BTW, the 4.6 has plenty of power for getting around. Anything else would be just more fun.

This opinion is from someone who has done several swaps in his lifetime though, so I could be biased. ;)

My truck will be off warranty in about a week!

I think at this point I want to just get the thing through the winter haha... I like the supercharger idea simply due to the fact I get to keep the mill in the truck.. In the long run an ecoboost would be amazing, but probably a bit involved !!

The old 5.0L with some mods might be interesting, not sure what would be involved to pull that one off though..

Our blessed mother of acceleration ends up becoming our lady of perpetual payment. I have a mile long list of engines I'd love to swap into my cars and boost is very addictive.

Ive pondered the idea of a "simple" 5.4 3v swap for my already 4.6 3v. It would probably just need minor modifications to work. The exhaust for sure and im not sure if F150 intake manifolds would fit under the hood. Seems like there is a little extra room.

check an earlier thread re.the 5.4 swap and the coyote swap in an Adrenalin. Should give you the info you need.
