Hi all, ive just had my transmission rebuilt about 2 weeks ago, and it fixed the shift flare and the clunk while shifting, but a new problem has arisen....when accelerating i notice a shudder just before the car shifts from first gear to second. also when i come to a stop the clunk occurs again, possibly a harsh downshift from 2 to 1. but when i go through the gears manually shifting on the steering column, the truck shifts just fine, no shudder and no clunk when coming to a stop, so im pretty sure its not a TC issue, i have checked the u-joints and all seem okay. i want to go back to the tranny shop with a suggestion regarding the problems, thanks in advance. Jim

thanks for the reply.....i checked the u-joints and they seem okay i just removed the front driveshaft in the hope that it would dissapear and its still there. any other ideas?

well i would hope you set the parking brake with that drive shaft out, i am pretty sure ours park through the front wheels

try the control arm

it may be the control arm look under the truck between the tire and driver door there will be an arm there with two rubber pieces one on either side of it the rubber may be worn and causing the clunk thats what mine did and the rubber part is only like 8 bucks too
