Hello all, my 95 2door (w/ 4wd) has recently developed an unsettling grind/clunk/whirring noise from seemingly underneath and in front of the drivers seat. When I back up I don't really notice much. At first it would start to make noise around 20-30 mph when I wasn't accelerating hard, and would continue until about 50-60 mph. This has been going on for 2-3 days (I know I shouldn't be driving this but I need to get to work if its going to be fixed). More recently however, the grinding sound will start around 10, and continues to "speed up" (whir...whir...whir...if that makes any sense), and no is slightly noticable at highway speeds. I did a search and saw some people suggested looking at the rotors to make sure they are not rubbing, and make sure that the cv's dont have any play when the car is jacked. Also, when I turn slightly to the left, the noise will go away until I turn back, or the turn becomes more extreme. The sound also seems to get better when turning to the right, but does not dissapear. I hope this is relatively clear, if there is anything else I should be doing, or anything else that may lend clues (I know, besides not driving), please let me know.

Thanks in advance guys.

sounds like a wheel bearing. jack up the front and spin the wheels - see if you have any roughness.

Sounds like a place to start. While doing some searching I saw a post that sounded exactly like what I have going on, but nothing came from the thread. I was break lightly and it started, and as the previous poster described it is a woob-woob-woob sorta sound. I figured I'd make sure the calipers are bolted on to the required 85 ft/lb and then get the jack out. Thanks for the suggestion, please keep them coming.
