Hi All
Newbie here needing suggestions. My Granddaughter's 98 Ford Explorer lost reverse while backing up and she heard a clunk sound. Forward gears all working fine but when she puts it in reverse she says it sounds like its trying to work - but no movement back. Its automatic. Fluid was 1/2 quart low and didn't smell burnt.
She's in another town getting ready to leave for college so something needs to be done with the car within the next two weeks.
Anyone here with an idea of what the problem is - and a possible fix?
Any ideas as to what it might cost to repair? Any suggestions as to where might be the best place to have it checked out - national chains etc.
Are junk yard trannys a good option?
All suggestions wecome!
Thanks,
Joseph in Houston
