Don't know what's up? Our Explorer was in a deep puddle and it now seems to be in neutral all the time.
Yes, it did loose all the slave cylinder floid after checking it onshore We refilled it but still no lockup of the disc.
I thimk the seals on the slave shrinked when entering the cold water in the mud hole therebye loosing the fluid. Upon refill when holding the clutch FUULY depressed it is making a clicking sound? A jeep wrangler before us did EXACTLY the same thing in the mudhole. You can shift to any gear but NOTHING happens. Has anyone else heard of this. Thanks for any help.
I'm not very good with clutches but I've gone throw alot of them. The first time it happened was right after I bought it. It was very hot outside in the mountains and I entered a beaver pond which was very cold water. The same exact thing happened to me as it did to you. It was fine running fine until I had to stop in the middle of it to wait for my friend in his yota get up the hill on the other side. While I was waiting I took it out of gear and when he finally got up it I stuck in gear and it just sat there. Not moving at all.
Well we towed it home and got to look closer into and found out the slave cylinder was shot. Changed it and it was good..........until the next time anyways.
Derrick, good to hear from you again. I noticed you have a few more upgrades as well since our last chat. Actually I wasn't driving it. I built it for my other half who is now the full owner. This ICE POND was VERY DEEP and it even stopped TWO FULLY locked BRONCO's and one with 35"M/T claws. Plus they took turns plowing the snow just to get there! Plus it was the first trip with 35's on the X. She did like it though other then that. Thanks for the info! BTW, she has pics too.
