i know there are many threads on this but none give any other option aside from pushing that clip in..
well my plastic clip is damaged the top piece(where the split v is) just wont go in for nothing and i cant get it out either :/

is there any other alternatives aside from cutting the line and replacing it?

i finally managed to borrow the $50 for the slave cylinder there's no way i can come up with another $100 for a stupid 2ft line :/

95 explorer sport 2wd 5speed.

i bought this truck with 82,400 original miles. it had sat for a year and the master cylinder was bad, changed that 2 weeks ago. now this :(

im a big guy so room to do anything is barely given lol. is it possible to lower the trans a little so i can have more room to work with?

What were you using to try? The special tool, or ?
Was the white ring damaged already, or did you do the damage trying to unfasten it?

it was damaged prior to me touching it :( i tried to remove it to clean it and flatten it back out but its just stuck halfway inside the fitting and the other half wont come out for nothing.

i tried using special tool to tuck it in followed by a flat head screw driver but to no avail :(

finally after about 2-3 hours of tapping then turning then tapping and repeat.. it finally popped loose! thank god.
